Conclusion

...a mid-tower chassis that makes a statement, be quiet!'s latest is a noteworthy step up from Pure Base 600.

be quiet! may be a relative newcomer to PC enclosures, yet it has quickly hit its stride. The German manufacturer's latest release, the Dark Base 700, is not only be quiet!'s most exciting chassis to date, it is also one of the most versatile mid-tower solutions on the market.

Priced at Ā£175 and geared toward the modern enthusiast, Dark Base 700 offers stellar looks combined with solid build quality and a wide range of useful value adds. These include bundled SilentWings PWM fans, a modular interior that can be inverted, chopped or changed, a well-thought-out internal hub for fan and LED control, and last but not least a forward-looking I/O panel outfitted with USB 3.1 Type-C.

There's plenty to like and be quiet! is only a few small tweaks away from excellence. Cable management could be enhanced and a quick-release rear side panel would be a welcome addition, but if you're willing to push the budget for a mid-tower chassis that makes a statement, be quiet!'s latest is a noteworthy step up from Pure Base 600.

Bottom line: we're in the process of updating our test platforms for high-end graphics and have placed an order for two Dark Base 700 chassis. We can't think of a better commendation than that.

Love it!

Also so glad they finally added a PSU basement… something lacking in the 900
I quite like the look of that case; it is solid and mean looking. The only major downside to me is the very high price.
Thats a pretty pricey case, I have the silentbase and build quality is excellent but I do think the price is a little high for that particular model.
I have to say I'm a big fan of modular cases and this one looks very sleek.
I'm one of ‘those people’ who actually need an inverted PC case, since my system unit can only go on the left side of my desk against a wall. I think this might be my next case :)
