Conclusion

Improved internals, nicer cabling, a better fan and enhanced performance via a new platform means be quiet! ensures the Pure Power 9 keeps it modern.

There's no shortage of high-quality power supplies on the market. be quiet! adds to the roster with the introduction of the new, improved Pure Power, available in mainstream capacities.

Improved internals, nicer cabling, a better fan and enhanced performance via a new platform means be quiet! ensures the Pure Power 9 keeps it modern. These upgrades from the previous generation arrive with no price premium, so the 600W model retails for around Ā£75.

One can go significantly cheaper and opt for something like the System Power 8. On the other end of the scale, Platinum-rated PSUs are double the price.

Bottom line: be quiet! has added a sensible array of extras for a sensible price. And that's the word we come away with after this Pure Power 9 evaluation: sensible.

The Good

The Bad
Solid performance for class of PSU
Improved cabling
Same price as last-gen supply

Am I the only one that prefers fans not to turn off? A decent sized quality fan running at a low speed is basically silent anyway, so why bother having no air flow at all for an imperceptible ‘advantage’?

I agree. I have a BeQuiet! sfx 300 gold - when its in a case its simply inaudible. I use their fans and cpu coolers too. Top quality stuff imo.
1 Year warranty?! Is bequiet blind to the rest of offers on the market?
Good PSU it's found its way on to my shortlist.
