Conclusion

...but the biggest hurdle to immediate adoption is the steep street price of around £100, which is at odds with the current market climate.

Building a decent PSU in 2018 isn't an overly hard task. Take an established platform, tweak it to your liking, and then release in common capacities.

The be quiet! Straight Power 11 neatly fits in below the Dark Power 11. Many of the expected features are present, including fully-modular cabling, near-silent operation, high-quality innards, and pleasing aesthetics.

We'd prefer to have more PCIe cabling on this 550W model but the biggest hurdle to immediate adoption is the steep street price of around £100, which is at odds with the current market climate that has high-performance 650W PSUs available for less. We'd recommend that be quiet! takes a good, hard look at UK pricing - £80 for this model ought to be bang on the money.

Bottom line: Another quality supply from the updated be quiet! stable, it's only present pricing that keeps this PSU away from a recommended gong.

I remember my Be Quiet DPP 650w being a bit pricey when I bought it.

Mind you it's still going strong 8 years later and had a trip to and from NZ in the meantime so I think it was worth every penny.

(The trip back wasn't thar gentle either going by the state of our shipping boxes..)
Looks a very solid unit, typical be quiet quality. Its biggest problem is the popular EVGA SN G2/3 and Corsair RMX 550w models are £25 less and the Seasonic Focus Plus is £15 less and they come with 7 & 10 year warranties. Is it 33% better than those? Probably not.

Was just thinking that.

You would think it was at least quieter, but if those tests are right it is louder than its competitors most of the time.
