Conclusion

This is the best-performing GTX 750 Ti cooler we've come across thus far, and it's unfortunate the heatsink is strapped to a middling 1,033MHz core.

The GeForce GTX 750 Ti is one of the most intriguing Nvidia graphics cards in recent history. With a stern focus on improving performance-per-watt, the Maxwell architecture is well suited to bringing a high-quality 1080p gaming experience to small-form-factor PCs that are both efficient and inexpensive.

On paper, the GTX 750 Ti GPU is a perfect fit for systems such as the Steam Machine, and there's enough graphics horsepower on offer to compete with latest-generation games consoles such as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The question for system builders and end users is how will Nvidia's partners adapt to this energy-efficient approach? So far, we've seen new designs and recycled coolers being utilised with varying degrees of success. Our idea of the perfect GTX 750 Ti is a single-slot card that's small, quiet, priced affordably and primed for small-form-factor or HTPC use, and we haven't seen that happen as yet.

Taking a more predictable tact, Gigabyte's WindForce brings serious cooling performance to a GPU that doesn't run particularly hot. The result is a remarkable 45ºC degree temperature under load, yet Gigabyte has missed a trick by not pushing the card with more adventurous shipping frequencies. This is the best-performing GTX 750 Ti cooler we've come across thus far, and it's unfortunate the heatsink is strapped to a middling 1,033MHz core.

The Good

Good 1080p gaming performance
Relatively low power consumption
Stays remarkably cool under load
Keeps noise levels in check

The Bad

Conservative factory overclock
Superfluous power connector
Black PCB would have been nicer

Agree that so far none of the manufacturers seem to have done the GTX750Ti justice. Slightly lazy recycling of existing cooler designs seems to be the issue. To me the current picks of the crop are the Gainward at the low end (cheapest mainstream brand) or MSI at the high end. Still no passive units though…
Still overpriced.Meh.

Edit!!

Galaxy has released a low profile GTX750TI:
