Like the look of the Crystal Series 570X but struggling to justify the £185 price tag? Fear not, because Corsair has a plan b in the form of the smaller, less costly Crystal Series 460X.

Available for £120, or £150 with RGB fans, Corsair's second-rung option offers a luxurious tempered glass finish on the side and front, making it a prime choice for builders seeking to show off their wares.

Based heavily on the existing 400C, the interior feels familiar and the chassis scores well in terms of build quality and performance. Yet while the tempered glass is a nice addition, Corsair may have missed a trick by not going the extra yard with USB Type-C and a few sheets of sound-dampening material.

The big question is whether or not the 460X RGB is worth the premium over the 400C? That's debatable but we'll take the easy option and state that it depends entirely on user preference. We aren't bowled over by the multi-colour fans, but if you've got your heart set on a 400C, the standard 460X with tempered glass is a stylish alternative that won't break the bank.
