The i-Ram is now the RAMDRIVE, but is a new name enough to make the technology sell?
Appealing and innovative as it was the Gigabyte i-Ram never was a product that sold in big numbers. In saying that, Gigabyte hasn’t given up on the format yet with the introduction of a new SKU, a 5.25” based RAMDRIVE product. In doing so Gigabyte have also renamed the existing SKU’s, so the entire range now carries the RAMDRIVE name.Featuring memory compatibility up to DDR 400Mhz and a maximum capacity of 4GiB the RAMDRIVE box introduces easy access to device and battery status on the fly. Using a single MOLEX connector, the RAMDRIVE box may just provide a platform for greater uptake of the product.
Will be interesting to see if these changes really do see the RAMDRIVE achieve greater success.
