21 June 2012, London UK - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, has announced the availability of its award-winning HDTV Monitor Series 7 (TB750) and premium LED Monitor Series 7 (SB750V) in the UK. The monitors are the first to feature Mobile High-definition Link (MHL) technology which allows users to easily share content between their mobile and HDTV devices.

The monitors also boast a wide range of innovative features including Intel® WiDi (wireless display), All Share Play and Connect Share. Additionally, the HDTV version offers Smart TV functionality with access to over 1,500 apps through Samsung's Smart Hub, and also won the Innovation Award at CES 2012 earlier this year. The stunning curve design and black high-gloss frame which elegantly compliments the white base, further sets these monitors apart from conventional devices and brings sophistication to the home or workplace.

Phil Gaut,  General Manager,  Samsung UK Display Division said, "With the new Series 7 range, Samsung is changing the way we watch and share content and how we use our mobile devices for work, as well as play. With MHL, users can easily transfer content from their mobile device to a large screen without interruption. The TB750 offers the ultimate in home entertainment - giving users a HD TV, a large screen to play games and the opportunity to access files and other content stored on a mobile device. By dramatically enhancing connectivity between devices, we are delivering a smart user experiences to consumers and businesses."

Connectivity

With the increasing use of smart devices, from smartphones to tablets to TVs and cameras, Samsung is leading the way in connectivity between devices.

MHL technology enables users to connect MHL-enabled smartphones, such as the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note, to the monitor, to view content on a bigger screen and in a higher resolution.  MHL allows users to enjoy games, videos, pictures and other content on the move and then easily connect their mobile device to a monitor with the convenient MHL cable included with the monitor. Therefore, users can start watching a movie on their mobile device while on their way home from work then finish watching the movie in stunning Full HD when they reach the comfort of their home, by simply plugging in the cable and continuing where they left off. The MHL cable which connects the micro USB output of the mobile to HDMI input in the monitor also supports 1080p HD video and digital audio while simultaneously provides power to the mobile device.

Aside from MHL, the displays also feature the following connectivity options:

  • Intel® WiDi allows users to connect wirelessly with notebooks and PCs, enabling people to share multimedia content without the need for cables.
  • Samsung's All Share Play service links the monitor with compatible devices and enables users to share content wherever they are in the home with their phone to notebook.
  • Connect Share allows users to enjoy instant playback of video, music and photo files directly from a laptop or PC without the need to turn their computer on.

In addition, the TB750 features Samsung's Smart Hub giving users access to more than 1,500 Smart TV apps, including LOVEFiLM, BBC iPlayer and M&S, via the Samsung Apps store. The Monitor's TV functionality gives users the option to turn their monitor into a Full HD television to enjoy their favourite TV programmes.

The TB750 is now available in the UK from Dixons and Richer Sounds.

The SB750 is also now available in the UK from Amazon, John Lewis, Dixons, Comet and Overclockers.
