At the recent Activate Asia 2006 event Lucas Arts have spoke on their intentions for the next 12 months, and boy do they have big plans!

The exclusive event was used to showcase a number of games from Activision and Lucas Arts and to give the attending press an insight into their future plans.

Toby Mast, Lucasarts Producer and QA Supervisor, told the crowds that Lucas Arts have had the biggest surge in market share out of all publishers in 2005 when they moved up to the 6th place in the rankings despite only having five games on the market, including mercenaries and Star Wars Battlefront II. Mast said that it's George Lucas's ambition to reach the top 5 list of the biggest game's publishers and they clearly think that 2007 may well be the year. Why? Because it's the 30th anniversary of Star Wars.

Lucas Arts will be focusing on well-written story-lines which they believe is an important part of a videogame and have been working closely with George Lucas on recent scripts for some of the biggest titles, including the upcoming Indiana Jones and Star Wars titles and some brand new I.P.

Star Wars Battlefront II is currently the biggest selling Star Wars game , but with the anniversary just around the corner Lucas Arts will be hoping to beat that record all over again. Not only will there be a huge Star Wars title for 2007 but Lucas Arts also confirmed they are working with new technology that will improve our game playing experience....beam me up George!

Next year will be a huge celebration for Lucas Arts with the release of a huge Star Wars title, an new animated TV series and a new range of toys. With George Lucas closely working with the team they'll surely have a bumper year in 2007.
