U.K. Xperia Play launch details: Six Games Confirmed

MCV reports that Sony Ericsson's new mobile phone, Xperia Play, will launch in the U.K. on March 31. 2011.

Running on Android v2.3, the hand-held device will sport a 4 inch TFT touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and will double up as a gaming console. Six titles have been confirmed for launch day with 50 more games available to purchase through the PlayStation Suite.

The games confirmed include: Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors, Tetris, Star Battalion, Crash Bandicoot, FIFA 10 and The Sims 3. Sony Ericcson has confirmed that all of the major mobile operaters and retailers will stock the device and also hopes to sell the hand-held in game stores across the U.K.

Xperia Play, which sports a PlayStation-style gamepad, has been developed specifically to host good quality games and boasts an Adreno GPU graphics processor that will deliver 60fps play-back. The device will retail at approximately £499.99.
