PRESS RELEASE

Wacom firmly supports mobile device innovation with its digital pen sensor system

6th March - Wacom Co., Ltd., today announces that its Wacom® feel IT technologies (hereafter called "feelTM"), has been adopted by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. The digital pen sensor system optimised for a wide variety of applications on mobile devices, is now in use with the Samsung GALAXY Note 8.0.

In 2011, the GALAXY Note was the first smartphone to adopt Wacom's digital pen sensor system. This is the fifth product by Samsung to make use of feelTM, following the GALAXY Note 10.1 (launched in August 2011), the GALAXY Note II (September 2012), and the ATIV Smart PC (October 2012).

The S Pen of Galaxy Note 8.0, supported by feelTM, has evolved to enhance everyday usability and creative expression. For example, with  ‘Air View', the S Pen can simply hover over the screen to see previews of videos, emails, photos and appointments on S Planner. The file or application doesn't need to be opened in full.  In addition to this, S Pen allows images and content to easily be edited and cropped, whilst Paper Artist and Photo Note allow photos to be artistically personalised.

Wacom® feel IT technologies comprises of a highly sensitive digital pen and other key components integrated in the GALAXY Note 8.0, resulting in a natural and intuitive user interface solution. By promoting the adoption of feelTM in mobile devices, Wacom strives to bring creative new digital communication solutions to a wide range of consumers using mobile products.
