The 2008 BBC Children in Need Appeal is in full swing and this year's fundraising theme is ‘Do Something Different’.  So Igglepiggle, one of the stars of award-winning children’s programme, In the Night Garden, has joined forces with Pudsey to invite celebrities to rise to the challenge and get creative.  By styling his new look with accessories, each piece of celebrity artwork will be framed, with the best designs being made into 12” plush toys and auctioned on Ebay from Friday 7th November 2008 with all proceeds going to BBC Children In Need.

Regularly seen on CBeebies in the hit pre-school show, a best-selling toy and star of his own DVD In the Night Garden’s Igglepiggle is a celebrity in his own right and has taken time out of his busy filming schedule to support this campaign that aims to raise money for a very worthwhile cause.  Every penny donated to Children in Need is distributed directly to projects that make a real and positive difference to the lives of children and young people so here is how celebrities and the public can help…

  • Ready and waiting to embrace this season’s fashion accessories, Igglepiggle has sent his celebrity friends across the UK a designer pack to each create their own unique design to turn him into a work of art.  So bring on the frills and designer fabrics, stars and stripes, he’ll toy with tartan or even a tux - whatever it is, you name it, he’ll wear it!
  • Each celebrity design for our famous furry blue friend will be signed and sold on Ebay so now’s the chance for you the public to bag yourself an exclusive Igglepiggle design from a well known celebrity.  All you have to do is log onto www.ebay.co.uk/igglepiggle from Friday 7th November 2008 and let the bidding wars begin!

Last year's BBC Children in Need Appeal raised a record-breaking £37 million, which went to help thousands of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK who are living with a disability or in situations of neglect, abuse or deprivation.  The vision of the Children in Need charity is a society where each and every child and young person is supported to realise their potential.

Watch out for your favourite celebrity designs and creative fashion ideas over the next few weeks that may even set a new trend!  Follow Igglepiggle and the gang from BBC’s In the Night Garden in their star style campaign and join them online (www.ebay.co.uk/igglepiggle) a week before the televised appeal on Friday 14 November 2008 to help make a difference this year.
