Conclusion

...champions best-in-class components such as the deca-core Intel Core i7-6950X processor and MSI GeForce GTX 1080 SeaHawk graphics card.

For enthusiasts and high-end gamers, the PC's greatest strength is its ability to deliver a solution tailored to every conceivable budget. Users can acquire capable hardware for just a few hundred pounds and put most games consoles to shame, and if you really want to make the PlayStation 4 feel like a children's toy, you can spend thousands on a system that's far more exotic.

Cyberpower's Luxe Xtreme is a fine example of what ultra-high-end PCs have to offer. Priced at a jaw-dropping £4,399, it champions best-in-class components such as the deca-core Intel Core i7-6950X processor and MSI GeForce GTX 1080 SeaHawk graphics card.

A Platinum-rated PSU and NVMe PCIe storage are par for the course on a build of this magnitude, yet there is room for improvement in a couple of other areas. Quad-channel memory should, we feel, be standard on any high-end X99 platform, and Cyberpower could make the system quieter by adding a dedicated fan hub. Small tweaks in the grand scheme of things, and if you feel the need to add more oomph in the form of, say, extra memory or a second GPU, the versatile online configurator ensures that Luxe Xtreme can be customised accordingly.

Such hardware can be considered overkill for the majority of users, but for those few who can afford such luxuries, it makes sense to have this sort of kit plumbed into an elaborate enclosure embellished with tempered glass, large swathes of aluminium and an eye-catching ensemble of liquid-cooling paraphernalia.

Nice review, your conclusion was spot on. When I read the spec list I wondered why the system only had dual-channel memory and 16 GB's of it when the cost of installing quad-channel (32 GB's) is tiny against the system cost.

A pre-built water-cooling system is attractive for people intimidated to build their own, especially on top high end systems like this with 10-cores overclocked. The core temperatures for this system were brilliant but I'd turn down all the fans for a quieter system.

How often does a water-cooling system need to be cleaned out? Cleaning out a complicated system you did not build may worry potential buyers.

If there's a filter present, you don't have to clean it for years. You will probably have to replace the pump due to a worn out bearing before having to clean the system.
Very nice, when I win it in the Hexus comp I'll pay the difference for a second 1080 and 32Gb RAM
£4,400 on a PC and you still only get a single GPU and dual-channel memory out of the box? Clearly they're marketing this thing to people with way more money than sense.
