Conclusion

Offering commendably smooth FHD gaming performance from both GPU camps without breaking the bank...

Monitor manufacturers need to carefully evaluate the target audience with any range. Putting value and smooth gaming first and foremost, with a lesser nod to productivity, the 27in iiyama G-Master GB2770HSU-B1 is an interesting proposition.

Offering commendable FHD gaming performance from both GPU camps without breaking the bank, the display succeeds in its primary ambition. Accurate colours and IPS technology also make it suitable as a daily productivity workhorse, if you can live with the meagre resolution, so there's enough to like at Ā£230.

Yet it's not all good news. Low-ish brightness, a lack of luminance uniformity and a narrow colour gamut count against it. These are minor criticisms, however, as this display is neither geared, nor priced, to offer superb performance in every area.

Bottom line: want a decent FHD gaming screen that also doubles as a daily driver without costing the earth? The iiyama G-Master GB2770HSU-B1 is a solid bet that's in-stock right now.

So… no headphone jack? Oh well. Would be good to just have a picture of the ports.

Not really what I'd be looking for in a monitor - but then I've already got three other headphone jacks within reach (front panel, soundcard rear and speakers).. and bluetooth :p

and no wireless charging too, what is the world coming to
It does have a headphone jack. Ought to have mentioned that in the editorial, but because they all do, it was omitted. Fixed.
