Conclusion
...we come away feeling as though the G32QC represents good value for gamers who know what they're getting. In the market for a good-sized gaming monitor that won't break the bank? Gigabyte's new G32QC deserves to be on your shortlist.
Available for £400, or £350 if you value the promotional Steam credit, the 31.5in screen marries a 2,560x1,440 QHD resolution with FreeSync Premium support at up to 165Hz. A no-nonsense combination that delivers an engrossing QHD gaming experience, and the feeling of immersion is enhanced through a combination of subtle 1500R curve, 450-nit brightness and deep blacks.
There are, of course, compromises at this price point. The advertised HDR credentials are basic at best, motion blur synonymous with VA panels can be limited via overdrive but not entirely eliminated, and if you're wanting a panel that doubles as a productivity solution, less than 100 pixels per inch will struggle to deliver the requisite sharpness. Food for thought, yet despite these limitations, we come away feeling as though the G32QC represents good value for gamers who know what they're getting.
Bottom line: Gigabyte's G32QC is an attractive upgrade from an older screen. Gamers making the transition from 1080p60 to 1440p165 will undoubtedly feel the difference.
