Aorus makes a considered play in the sub-£200 Intel Z390 market with the Pro motherboard.

The power-delivery system is very good, harnessing high-quality VRMs and current-balancing doublers that combine to offer solid efficiency, and it is no surprise to see the board match the best in the overclocking stakes.

General layout is good, there are lots of well-placed fan headers, fan control is excellent, and the RGB is restrained, though we'd prefer to have onboard power and reset buttons instead of that lit-up XMP logo.

Our overall feeling is that Aorus has made a number of sensible cuts from the Master in order to hit that £180 price point. A few tweaks would take it from good to great.

The Good

The Bad
Good looks
RGB is mostly decent
Good overclocking potential
Solid price
Excellent power-delivery system

Not upgradeable to WiFi version
Could do with onboard buttons
USB 3.1G2 Type-C (front) should be there?

Thank you for the review. I've been eyeing this exact board with an 8700K for the next and last holiday of the year. I agree fully with your suggestions about the layout. I have a gigabyte z170x-gaming 5(the fan control setting is utter garbage!OMG!) and it has all of the “needed” features(on board reset/power, error code LED etc.) and I paid less than 200€ for it at the time. I don't see why they removed useful features like these on such an expensive board to put stupid stuff. Makes no sense for me. That is why I had a hard time choosing which board I wanted between the pro, the master, the ultra and the elite. But I don't have the need for wifi so I settled for the pro though a little disappointed.
The bios could be a lot better as Steve from Gamers Nexus suggested but it's an improvement from what I've got so if I purchase it I'll manage.
I must admit I have not been into buying Cutting edge items for for the past few yrs but How can this mobo be so fast?? I will buy it in January after these expensive holidays are over! For SURE!
