Conclusion

...Gigabyte has paired the high-end CPU and GPU components with three storage bays, an enjoyable 1080p display, Blu-ray optics, and a comfortable, backlit keyboard.

The Gigabyte P25W is strong in so many areas that you'd almost forgotten the stark-yellow lid, hadn't you?

There's enough performance here to power today's latest games, and Gigabyte has paired the high-end CPU and GPU components with three storage bays, an enjoyable 1080p display, Blu-ray optics, and a comfortable, backlit keyboard.

Factor in up to six hours of battery life, and you have a a gaming laptop that is capable in almost every regard. Yet, while this ensemble of features is indeed impressive, Gigabyte struggles to tame the hot-running internal components. As a consequence, the P25W can become uncomfortably hot and loud, which, when combined with the bright-yellow top, will make this laptop too ostentatious for some.

Bottom line: the P25W is one of the most promising gaming laptops on the market today, we just wish it came in black.

The Good

Impressive HD gaming performance
Enjoyable matte 1080p display
Three storage bays
Surprising battery life
Comfortable backlit keyboard

The Bad

Yellow lid an acquired taste
Can get hot and loud

“You can have it in any colour as long as it's yellow”

My guess is that that's an attempt at branding the laptop, looks great otherwise.
I like the yellow… then again I have a yellow car :p
Ā£1300 for a TN panel, plastic chassis and the colour scheme of a Tonka toy? No thanks.
It looks nice! Better than plain old black.

By the way it's a HD 4600 not a HD 4000 ;)
I've got the previous (or a previous) model which I picked up 2nd hand very recently, very happy with it feels solid to use, good performance etc.

Oh and of course the yellow is fantastic :D
