Conclusion

...If you can find one in stock at close to the mooted £429 price point, it's worth a shout.

We wrap up the review roster for 2020 with a product emblematic of the times. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti verges on impossible to find in stock, and if you do, be prepared to pay a handsome premium over recommended pricing.

Such matters are out of EVGA's hands, and it produces a trio of aftermarket boards based on the thoroughly decent GPU. The FTW3 Ultra is the pick of the bunch as it elevates core speeds to run at a real-world 2GHz. Performance is fairly close to last generation's RTX 2080 Ti, which means excellence at QHD and more than passable at UHD. Imbued with raytracing smarts and DLSS technology, EVGA does a solid job in a crowded market.

We'd prefer a second BIOS, it doesn't match the very best in the noise department, and there's little scope for more performance by overclocking because EVGA already runs it fast.

Our advice is simple. If you can find one in stock at close to the mooted £429 price point, it's worth a shout. If not, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FTW3 Ultra isn't as refined as some of the premium competition.

The Good

The Bad
Reasonable form factor
Lots of onboard sensors
Best-in-class stock performance

Stock issues
Not as quiet as some

This card could probably be a good high mid range card once NVIDIA releases the 12GB version thus driving down the price of this card unless something happens like DRAM shortages etc.
Even if you manage to find one for msrp, these prices for mid tier cards still just seems crazy to me, and I was somebody who reluctantly accepted the price of a 2080 on release…
One more card that exists only on paper, not in shops.
I know this isn't what the partners would want to hear but honestly I have no idea why someone would pay more for these (already a bit too high price wise, even on the founders, imo) when the founders edition is so close performance wise and ultimately cheaper (assuming stock ever appears).

I wouldn't be shocked if the founders cards could overclock to similar levels too, assuming you know what you're doing.

If you are living outside of US then you will not able to get founder edition anyways.
And yes, the founder should overclock to these speeds.

The availability now is even worse than the mining boom times at last in my region.
nvidia just killed all the fun I had on the hype train. ehhh
