Conclusion

...for those wanting to try something different Torrent represents an enticing foundation for a spectacular build.

The Torrent is a another welcome addition to Fractal Design's growing line of high-quality PC enclosures.

Priced from £156, the Swedish manufacturer's latest mid-tower solution gives enthusiasts something a little different to the norm. A stylish exterior is allied to an intriguing interior that sees the power supply relocated to the top in an effort to free-up space and amplify airflow.

Well-suited to builds that place a greater emphasis on GPU cooling, dual 180 intakes and a trio of bottom 140s do a fine job of repurposing floor space typically reserved for the PSU, and if you're designing a rig to be seen, it helps not having a large PSU shroud covering the entire bottom portion.

Be mindful of the extra cable clutter associated with the RGB fans in the £200 flagship - we'd lean toward the regular TG models at £165 - but with the integrated fan hub, a GPU support bracket, six storage bays, five bundled PWM fans and that stunning fascia, Torrent does more than enough to be worthy of consideration.

Bottom line: conservative users such as yours truly may favour the quiet sophistication of Define 7, but for those wanting to try something different, Torrent represents an enticing foundation for a spectacular build.

Thats not too bad looking, even with the lighting, shame I'm going down the iTX route these days though, decade ago I would have been all over that.
So if falls off your desk, will it become the bit-Torrent?
I'd rather have fans at the top pulling warm air out than fans at the bottom bringing in cooler air, since I already have cooling front fans.

Plus all my PSU cable clutter stays at the bottom, but this way I need to feed the entire PSU cable on the side which is even more cluttering as it is with other cables as well.

The bottom fans would just end up blowing all the air at the GPU unit anyway :)
I did wonder when top-mounted PSUs would come back into fashion.

I do suspect that was kind of the point!
