Corsair, a manufacturer synonymous with PC enthusiasts, has this week ventured back into Apple Mac territory with a new line of Mac Memory kits.

Available initially in 4GB and 8GB capacities, Corsair's DDR3 memory is tested at Apple's developer compatibility labs and is guaranteed to work with any Mac that supports 4GB DDR3 SODIMMs. According to Corsair, that's just about every Mac produced since 2010 - including the MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, Mac Pro and iMac.

Designed to operate at a basic speed of 1,066MHz with 7-7-7-20 timings at 1.5V, the Mac Memory kits don't appear to be any different to Corsair's existing PC solutions - save for the guaranteed Mac compatibility - and they're similarly priced, too. At the time of writing, both the 4GB and 8GB kits are available to pre-order from SCAN.co.uk at a cost of £20.88 and £36.96, respectively.

In keeping with Corsair's existing memory upgrades, the new Mac Memory kits are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

does this mean its more expensive and slower?
Oddly enough it's cheaper than a lot of the competing ‘Mac compatible’ DDR3, at least on Amazon. Might have to finally upgrade!
As opposed to Mac-incompatible memory?:shocked2:
Most Macs just take standard DDR3? (Sodimms on the notebooks)
