System memory for PCs tends to be pretty generic, right? Usually outfitted with black heatspreaders and operating at 1,600MHz with 9-9-9-24 timings, it's difficult to differentiate one manufacturer's set from another.

Corsair has announced the availability of DDR3 memory that looks different and runs at an energy-conserving 1.35V.

Presented in, dare we say, an Apple-like white, White Vengeance LP DDR3 memory is available in 4GB modules that run at 1,600MHz and offer middle-of-the-road 9-9-9-24 timings.

Measuring just 26.25mm high, Corsair reckons the low-profile memory is particularly suited for space-constrained chassis typically used in HTPC builds.

An 8GB kit (2 x 4GB modules) retails for Ā£70, representing a 40 per cent premium over the cheapest standard-sized kit we could find.

Corsair's targetting a niche market with this product, we think, but if you need low-profile memory with a proven heritage, this one should be on your shortlist.

Corsair are free to use this for reference in the future
These are low profile in comparison to the standard tall heatspreader Vengeance modules (hence Vengeance Low Profile). They are intended for desktop PCs where the taller heatspreader of the regular Vengeance can cause issues with some CPU coolers.
I think by LP they should mean Low Power, not Low Profile.

The key selling point here is the 1.35V - lowering the power draw for small systems with limited heat dissipation, make sure those sticks don't overheat in a warm running system with a tight enclosure.

Acronym interpretation/creation FAIL??
The LP is for Low Profile. The regular Vengeance and Vengeance LP operate at 1.5V, but this “Arctic White” version runs at 1.35V.
not bad looking ram maybe they should be NP for normal profile rather than low profile.

How do they compare in height to say corsair xms3

i prefer the look of the blue ones myself
