We've good news for those in the market for some ultra-speedy RAM as Corsair has announced that its Dominator GT - complete with updated part numbers - are to be re-introduced to the market within one to two weeks.
Earlier this month, the memory specialist had announced that it had ceased to ship Dominator GT modules amid concerns of faulty Elpida Hyper ICs. The issue, discovered by enthusiast users and verified by Corsair, highlighted that the rate of failure for Hyper-based modules was unacceptable.
To its credit, Corsair was first to react and promptly pulled its modules from retail - adding that modules already in circulation would continue to be backed by its standard warranty.
Today, that's all in the past as Corsair has announced that it "worked very closely with Elpida to determine the root cause of the issue and to define the associated corrective actions to take". With Dominator GT modules returning to the marketplace, it adds "we are confident that every GT module using the Elpida Hyper IC Corsair ships from today will meet our strict quality and reliability standard."
We're told that the new parts will arrive at Corsair's store and resellers worldwide in the coming weeks, and they'll be backed by Corsair's lifetime warranty. With Elpida seemingly able to identify and resolve the flaw, we'd assume that modules from other affected manufacturers will also soon make a triumphant return.
