DDR2 and DDR3 lines of DRAM achieve new record-breaking speeds
So you've got Intel's monstrous dual-socket D5400XS motherboard on your shopping list. How about some high performance memory to go with it?
Right on cue, Corsair, manufacturer of high performance computer and flash memory products, has announced record-breaking speeds achieved within the Corsair DDR2 and DDR3 lines of DRAM memory.
The new speeds are achieved through Corsair's patented Dual-Path Heat Exchange technology, which employs a specially designed quadruple heat sink to dissipate heat through both convection and conductive methods.
On the DDR2 front, two new Corsair 4GB DDR2 module speed grades are being offered for high-performance enthusiast users: Corsair 1066MHz (PC2-8500) and 1142MHz (PC2-9136) 4GB memory kits (2X2GB). These new kits will be available by the end of February.
In terms of DDR3, Corsair is shaping up to break the 2GHz barrier and expects to release four new DDR3 DHX memory kits available in 2GB configurations by the end of 2008's first quarter. Expect speeds of 2000MHz (PC3-16000) and beyond.

No pricing has yet been announced for any of Corsair's new memory offerings but expect to pay the premium for the extra boost in speed.
