Gigabyte has sent over details of its Ultra Durable 4 Classic branding - marketed as being the ultimate protection against everyday system failures.
The manufacturer has called upon Glass Fabric PCB technology - said to repel moisture caused by humid and damp environments - to offer, what is termed as, humidity protection. The use of IC microchips, apparently delivering higher resistance to ESD, also lends a hand to improved electrostatic protection. The notable claim here is of ESD resistance being up to 3 times better, than with the use of traditional ICs.
Anti-surge ICs and the company's DualBIOS technology are combined together into a package, promising improved power failure and surge protection, whilst the use of Lower RDS(on) MOSFETs, allows the company to deliver protection against high operating temperatures.
Representing the next step-up from the Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 concept, we're told that Ultra Durable 4 Classic will debut as part of four Intel H61 Express chipset powered mainboards - the GA-H61-S3, GA-H61M-DS2, GA-P61-S3-B3 (1.1) and GA-H61M-S2P-B3 (1.1).
