ZOTAC launched its first nForce 630i-based mini ITX platform just a matter of months ago in the form of its nForce 630i ITX, and has now announced an upgraded model with the key missing ingredient; support for Wi-Fi.

The new and imaginatively-titled nForce 630i ITX Wi-Fi, pictured below, takes the same Core 2-supporting, GeForce 7100-based platform and adds support for wireless 802.11b/g connectivity into its minuscule 170mm x 170mm dimension.

With a 1,333MHz FSB and support for DDR2-800, it's a fairly potent little board. Throw on an el-cheapo Core 2 Duo processor, and you'd get a small-but-capable HTPC solution with GeForce 7-based graphics that support DirectX 9 and Shader Model 3.

The added Wi-Fi is useful, but the board still has one little downside - the ageing on-board graphics won't provide any hardware-level support for H.264 and VC-1 decoding, so you'll have to rely on your CPU to do most of the media-orientated legwork.

Not a bad little board for a little nettop-type box, though.

Some of these mini ITX stuff is looking pretty damn good now. I was thinking about converting my HTPC to one like this…. if I had the time! It would consume hardly no power :D
is that a pci-e x1 i spy?

so in theory one could have a E8400 or a Q6600 and a geforce 8400, an impressive amount of power for a pocket sized board.
Prices?
Looking at it, I don't think wifi's that much of a killer feature; I'd be sorely tempted, if I were doing this, to go the AM2+ route, say with http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/ipcboard_view.asp?productid=515&proname=NC81-LF. OK, no PCI-E, but the integrated graphics are better, and you can always add Wi-Fi.
Wonder if this will see availability in the UK at all?
