Not content just showing-off a 4G netbook, Samsung is parading its new NF series around the halls of IFA.  The portable PCs pack some pretty impressive specs between them and all feature a curvaceous new chassis.

At the head of the family is the NF310, which includes Intel's dual-core Atom N550 CPU and a 1,366x768px 10.1in screen.  This should place it at the top-end of the market, though it certainly has the looks to match a higher price-tag.  With subtle curves and a very clean finish, the netbook is much prettier and more professional-looking than a lot of its contemporaries.

Thankfully the new design is shared by the other models in the NF range, which both feature slightly more mainstream internals.  The NF210 loses the higher-resolution screen and dual-core processor, but makes up for it by including a 6-cell 8850mAh battery which Samsung claims will provide up to 14 hours of use.  If the manufacturer has managed this feat, it would easily put the netbook among the best in its class.

Rounding out the set, the NF110 brings the same good looks in a considerably more affordable package.  Unfortunately, the manufacturer hasn't gone into detail on what components this model will use, but claims to be able to bring prices down by manufacturing the majority of the parts in-house.

All members of the NF-series should be available across Europe in October - with worldwide availability following shortly afterwards - though Samsung hasn't gone into any detail about how much its new netbooks will cost.

NF310 is my next baby, got an N220 that it took me about 8 weeks to decide on, then 2 months after I do they release these
It's shocking how much of a difference there is to overall Windows (or any OS) performance with the simple addition of a second core. Even a dual-core Atom is enough to make Windows 7 feel a great deal swifter.

Dual-core netbooks need to come way down in price. But obviously Intel are enjoying this enforced delaying tactic…
