MSI has announced the 'Ultra Slim, Full Horsepower' GS63VR and GS73VR Stealth Pro gaming laptops. These are, MSI claim, the world's slimmest gaming laptops, and have been upgraded to feature Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GPUs. These 15.6- and 17.3- inch gaming laptops also pack components such as; 7th gen Intel Core i7 processors, up to 120Hz 3ms 1080p display panels (or 4K IPS panel options), NVMe M.2 SSDs, Killer networking, and ESS Sabre HiFi audio DACs.

The headlining facts from this announcement are that these laptops feature GTX 1070 GPUs and remain 'slim and light'. A gaming laptop definition of slim and light is rather chunkier and heavier than something like a business Ultrabook. You can see these qualities quantified and highlighted in the graphic below.

Keeping the GTX 1070 GPU and Kaby Lake CPU cool is MSI's Cooler Boost Trinity "which consists of triple Whirlwind-Blade fans (each with 41 blades); increasing 30 per cent more airflow at same RPM". MSI hints that this setup should minimise if not eliminate any throttling due to overheating.

Other niceties equipped by MSI include a 3ms response time and 120Hz refresh rate panel when choosing one of these laptops with a 1080p display. Otherwise you can opt for the UHD IPS panel with 100 per cent Adobe RGB colour reproduction with either of the laptops. Unfortunately MSI doesn't provide refresh and response time info for the UHD IPS panel options.

Another feature called out by MSI is the improved audio experience thanks to the equipped ESS Sabre HiFi audio DAC. This hardware is capable of 24bit/192KHz sampling rates. Thanks to the excellent audio subsystem these laptops are among the few to be Hi-Res Audio certified.

You can find the full spec list of both the new MSI Stealth Pro slim gaming laptops below (click to zoom in). Pricing and availability weren't touched upon by the MSI press release.

i wish this was around when I got my 73VRF Stealth Pro, its great with 6gb 1060, but 8 gig 1070 would've been my pick, unless its stupid money.
offcoz in the advert you never hear “Battery Life and Temperatures”

Could you share some details please?

The battery in my 2013 Razer Blade just kicked it, so I may be in the market for a new machine…

Notable amount of motion blur, flimsy plastic bezel, fan speed problems, horrid touchpad, plus a series of duff batteries.
Also a series of problems with MSI and the retailers changing their minds back and forth on whether or not upgrading the 2.5 SATA drive, M.2 or RAM invalidated the warranty, despite it being advertised as something one could do. It was pretty nasty to work on, as well.
