We already know there's a large community that prefers to build their own desktop-based machines so why can't one do the same with a barebones laptop unit?
SCAN seems to think this is a good idea and has begun retailing such barebones units that will require a user-purchased CPU, memory, optical drive, SATA hard disk, and operating system.
Starting at Ā£587 (including VAT) for a 15.4in model, we reckon the base price is a little steep, but it would make for a cool on-the-go gaming platform.
