If initial reports managed to whet your appetite, you may be interested in learning that PowerColor's HD 6870 X2 graphics card, is expected to become available this month.

Powered by dual-Barts XT GPUs, the HD 6870 X2 will apparently pack a total of 2,240 stream processors (1,120 per GPU), 2,048MB GDDR5 (1,024MB per GPU) and clock speeds of 900MHz and 4,200MHz effective, for the GPUs and memory respectively. A custom dual-fan cooling solution, using copper heat-pipes, is said to take care of cooling duties.

As for the all-important pricing information, it's suggested that the $449 USD mark has been earmarked - fitting in nicely with earlier speculation.

If that translates to 449 pounds then be cheaper to buy two separate 6950's. Wonder what price we will see over in UK.
Ā£272 apparently.
