It wasn't long ago that PowerColor launched a well-overclocked Radeon HD 4890, complete with custom "ZEROtherm" cooling.
Today, that very card is being given an upgrade by doubling the amount of on-board memory from 1GB to 2GB.
The beefed-up card, pictured above, retains PowerColor's custom heatsink fan, but loses out on factory-overclocked frequencies. Unlike the performance-boosted 1GB model, the 2GB card will ship at stock speeds - that's 900MHz for the core and an effective 1,000MHz for the 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
Connectivity options come in the form of VGA, HDMI and DVI, but there's no mention of availability or pricing yet. With PowerColor's 1GB reference-cooled 4890 now available for under £140, it'll be interesting to see how competitive its 2GB custom-cooled alternative can be.
