NZXT has taken the wraps off its latest enthusiast chassis; Vulcan.

The mATX enclosure, pictured below, may look like something from a Minshara-class planet some 16 light years away, but budget LAN-goers are likely to be drawn in by the €59.99 asking price.

For roughly £50, the 406mm x 180mm x 422.5mm chassis is targeting LAN party regulars with an integrated non-slip carry handle that's said to provide better portability.

Made from a mix of steel and plastic, the chassis weighs 5.8kg and claims not to sacrifice on gaming performance. To that end, there's room for five cooling fans; a 120mm front intake, a 92mm rear exhaust, two 120mm top exhaust and a 200mm side fan, too. However, only the front intake and a single orange-LED top exhaust are bundled as standard - but the good news is they're attached to dual 8W fan controllers housed on the chassis' front face.

Seems a little tight inside, but there are a number of features worth making note of. A total of six drive bays are available - two 5.25in external, two 3.5in external and two 3.5in internal - and there's space for a bottom-mounted PSU.

A generous cut out in the motherboard tray should make light work of CPU cooler installation, and four expansion slots allow for SLI/CrossFire configurations. What's useful is that the interior layout allows for two graphics cards measuring up to 350mm in length - so there's nothing stopping the gaming enthusiast from throwing in say a pair of Radeon HD 5970s.

If air cooling just won't do, the chassis features pre-drilled holes for use with an external watercooling kit, and holes in the motherboard try should also help clear up any cable mess. Rounding off the spec sheet is a preferred all-black interior and a top-side I/O panel equipped with dual USB ports, eSATA and HD audio ports.

I find that strangely cool. I've got no need for a case at the moment, but I'd be tempted if I did. :)
I quite like the look of that chassis as well.

It's a nice size for a uATX case and looks fairly sturdy for carrying and flinging into the boot.
Odd handle placement.
Even with the PSU at the rear, wouldn't that be a little nose heavy?
my god, that thing is ugly!
