Eurocom Corporation (www.eurocom.com), a leading developer of long lifespan, fully upgradable notebooks, high performance mobile workstations and mobile servers has finished successfully testing the EUROCOM Panther 3.0 with VMware ESXi 4.1. Giving customers an all in one server solution complete with a Quad Port Ethernet adapter through a Magma Expressbox1 to offer full Server capability in a 12 pound Notebook Form Factor for on demand deployment.
The EUROCOM Mobile Server Technology significantly reduces the time and cost of deploying short-term LAN based solutions and of extending usage of existing business applications to users wherever required. Eurocom has developed a concept, in which numerous innovative companies are adopting: "Server-on-the-Go", where a team in the field, usually engineers, operating under a RED Team strategy utilize a Eurocom Mobile Server to receive and process feedback while being face-to-face with customers, co-developers, final users and other third parties.

Currently the EUROCOM Panther 3.0 is the only Mobile Server solution on the Market that combines all the capabilities of a standard server with the capabilities of a Notebook Form Factor. The world's first server able to meet all of the Server criteria is Eurocom's Panther 3.0. Weighing in at 5.3 kg (11.7 lbs.), with a 60.7 mm (2.43 inches) thickness, the Panther 3.0 evolved from high-end notebook designs. In addition to all of the expected notebook must-haves (17.3-inch 1920x1080 display, ExpressCard/34, optional webcam, 9-in-1 reader, etc.), Eurocom's Mobile Server design offers the following server-oriented features:

Eurocom Mobile Servers:
Mobile Server is a new category of notebooks designed with the professional user in mind. Software and/or database developers, training centers, military personnel, emergency relief organizations, SAP/Oracle Developers and service organizations who must frequently travel, yet need access to powerful computing, are the core target for Mobile Servers.
With the increasing mobility of today's workforce, the need for an office like environment in the field increases. Teams working with mobile workstations on their customer site or anywhere outside their office need a server to share data, run applications and have multiple operating systems available. The Eurocom Mobile Server is designed to perform at the same level as the bulky, larger, fixed servers companies currently use but have the advantage of being fully portable, weighing only 5.3 kg (11.66bs). The unit is what we call all-inclusive and contains of a 17 inch screen, full keyboard, Processor and Hard Drives in one piece of notebook form factor equipment.
Eurocom Mobile Servers provide the storage, security, redundancy and networking capacity you can expect from a server with 3.25 TB of storage provided by four physical hard drives available in RAID 0/1/5/10, a powerful six-core Intel 5600 series Processor running at up to 3.73 GHz with 12MB of L3 cache, 24GB of DDR3-1600 memory, built in Uninterrupted Power Supply and optional Fiber LAN port and Internal Wireless 802.11a/b/g/n LAN.
How it's provided
Eurocom provides support for Vmware ESXi 4.1 through the use of a Magma Express Box 1 Quad Port Ethernet adapter to offer a complete All-in-One Mobile Server platform.
VMware
VMware ESXi 4.1 installs directly on top of the server class hardware without requiring an underlying operating system provided by Eurocom to partition it into multiple virtual machines that can run simultaneously by sharing the processing power of the Eurocom hardware.
VMware ESXi is a "hypervisor", therefore it installs directly on top of the physical server and partitions it into multiple virtual machines that can run simultaneously, sharing the physical resources of the EUROCOM Panther 3.0 Mobile Server.
The ability to use virtualization to take advantage of the massive computing power of the EUROCOM Panther 3.0 improves the efficiency and availability of IT resources and applications. The EUROCOM Panther 3.0 Mobile Server and VMware ESXi eliminates the classic idea of having one server per application, now customers can run multiple virtual machines on one EUROCOM Panther 3.0 Mobile Server.
Magma Express Box1
Eurocom utilizes a Magma ExpressBox1; with Intel Quad Port Ethernet 1Gigabit Server PCIe card for network interface connection. Supporting new PCI Express technology, the connection to the computer is through a PCI Express host card and cable, ExpressBox1 provides a zero latency connectivity solution with a theoretical max throughput of 2000Mb/sec.

Intel Quad Port Ethernet 1Gigabit Server PCIe card offers high performing 10/100/1000 Ethernet connection and four Ethernet ports for networking.
