The A7N8X series has won numerous awards, with the A7N8X Deluxe recently voted as the Best Innovations in Motherboard of 2003 by the readers of Tom’s Hardware Guide, the world’s largest hardware testing website. ASUS also won the Best Motherboard Manufacturer award for the third consecutive year.
The A7N8X-E Deluxe, based on the nForce2 Ultra 400 chipset and supporting the Athlon™ XP processor, comes equipped with the exclusive Wi-Fi slot, which supports the ASUS Wi-Fi@HOME™ platform. ASUS Wi-Fi@HOME, as the name suggests, is the latest platform designed to simplify the process of building a wireless home network. In short, the goal is to enable reliable wireless data transfer through the 802.11b standards, easy Internet access sharing and simple setup at an affordable price. ASUS Wi-Fi@HOME includes three elements – ASUS motherboards supporting the exclusive Wi-Fi slot, the ASUS WiFi-b WLAN card and AP (access point) function.
The A7N8X-E Deluxe also enhanced the networking environment with Gigabit LAN support, allowing larger bandwidth for high-speed data transfer at 1000Mbps all the while remaining backward compatible to 100/10Mbps Ethernet.
The A7N8X-E Deluxe is sold in two editions – the basic edition (the board alone) and the wireless edition, which includes the WiFi-b wireless card. The wireless edition offers a 3 LAN-in-1 solution: 802.11b wireless LAN, Gbit LAN and 10/100Mbps LAN.
