AMD DURON(tm) PROCESSOR-BASED COMPUTERS
CHOSEN FOR MAJOR EDUCATION PROGRAM IN EUROPE
-AMD teams with Italian OEM CDC to provide 60,000 PCs to Italian Government
Organization-
MILAN, ITALY-NOVEMBER 13, 2001-AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced that an Italian
government organization has selected AMD Duron(tm) processor-based personal
computers for a major information technology and English language-training
program in southern Italy.
CDC SpA, a leading manufacturer of desktop PCs in Italy, will provide 60,000
personal computers based on the 1.1GHz AMD Duron processor. The CDC
systems were chosen by Italia Lavoro, an Italian government organization serving
the Italian Ministry of Labor and Social Security. They will be built in
Italy by Micronica, a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC, and are expected to be
delivered by the end of 2002.

According to Gartner-Dataquest, AMD has experienced significant PC processor
(Windows®-based desktops) market share growth of 66% from the third quarter
2000 through the third quarter 2001, in the education segment in Europe.
In Italy, AMD's market share in the education segment reached 37% in the third
quarter 2001. AMD continues to vigorously pursue opportunities to bring
reliable and stable platforms to business, government, and education end users.
