The motherboard is the backbone of the system so it's absolutely crucial to get it right first time, and it's one of those components where multiple factors come into play. The hardware, of course, needs to be fit for the intended purpose, but you also want up-to-date drivers, an optimised BIOS and a bullet-proof warranty.
