The rumour mill suggests that NVIDIA's next-generation GeForce GTX 680 is just a couple of weeks away, but speculation is no match for the real thing. AMD's Radeon HD 7000-series is here and now, and the range has this week been extended with the launch of the HD 7870 and HD 7850.

Our in-depth review of both cards is available for your delectation, and putting a little twist on things, we've also evaluated the underlying architecture by comparing the performance of HD 7850, HD 6850 and HD 5850 cards running at the same clocks.

Elsewhere, it's been a hectic week full of news from CeBIT and beyond. Here's a quick rundown of some of the week's most popular stories and you can head over to our dedicated CeBIT 2012 event page for a full view of every story from Hannover, Germany. And remember, there's still time to enter our Corsair and Chillblast competitions!
