In need of more memory for your Mac Pro? Well, if you don't fancy shelling out big bucks to Apple - and we mean seriously big bucks, we're talking £630 for a 4GiB kit - then, how about a Corsair solution?

Pictured below is one of two new high-density memory kits for Mac Pro desktop systems. The fully buffered 667MHz solutions are now available and come in 2GiB (2 x 1GiB modules) and 4GiB (2 x 2GiB modules) flavours.

More important however is the fact that these modules won't cost you an arm and a leg. Well, maybe half an arm. The 2GiB kit is available now at an MSRP of $165 whilst the 4GiB kit carries an MSRP $225. We'll let you do the math, but you won't need a calculator to tell you that it's a whole lot cheaper than buying from the Apple store.

If you're worried about quality and piece of mind, well, don't be. Corsair makes it no secret that its modules are tested at the Apple test labs in California and are 100% compatibility guaranteed with a lifetime warranty.

Isn't mac memory the same as standard memory now? (except the price difference)

These are FBDimms - so they are the same as PC ones but the key difference is the heatspreader due to the wind tunnel that the MacPro uses.
Umm, at 667Mhz this is only for the first generation Intel Mac Pro's… the 2008 variety needs 800Mhz FB DIMMs… welcome to 2006 Corsair?

I'm in the UK and decided to get RAM for my 2008 Mac Pro from OWC… one very happy customer here! Even including the dreaded UK customs import duty and VAT it only came to £160 for 4GB ! Bargain!
