TAIPEI, TAIWAN, Nov. 18, 2002 – Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS), a leading supplier of core logic and graphics chipsets, today unveiled its newest product line-up at the Comdex Fall 2002 in Las Vegas. SiS is now producing its latest chipsets supporting AGP 8X, including its flagship graphics processing unit (GPU), the Xabre series, and the latest core logic chipsets for The Intel® Pentium® 4 (P4) and AMD® Hammer processors.
Across the board, the latest SiS chips provide increased speed, functionality and power for the mainstream performance and gaming market.
“Our latest products continue to offer our customers the best combination of performance and value for today’s gaming and business applications,” said Samuel S. Liu, Chairman, CEO & President of SiS. “We are able to leverage our early-to-market support of AGP 8X with even faster and higher performing solutions.”
Following the successful launch of the SiS Xabre400 just months ago, SiS provided a sneak preview of its Xabre600 graphics processing unit (GPU), scheduled to ramp-up by the end of November. The Xabre600 supports AGP 8X as well as DirectX 8.1 for better graphics and faster processing.
The Xabre600 also integrates a proprietary SiS Hardware Optimized Vertexlizer EngineTM and SiS XmartTM technology, including XmartDriveTM, XmartVisionTM, XmartAGPTM,and Xminator-II Unified Driver, combined with other best-of-breed technologies, creating the best performance-value GPU on the market.
On the core logic side, SiS is furthering its market leading support of AGP 8X, with new chipsets supporting both the Intel® Pentium® 4 and AMD® Hammer CPUs.
Its newest P4 core logic chipset, the SiS655, joins the market-proven SiSR658 and SiS648. The SiS655 is the first P4 chipset on the market to have dual channel DDR333 for 5.4GB per second of memory bandwidth transfer speed at an advanced 128 bit mode and concurrent 64x2 bit mode.
To ensure the highest possible bandwidth and transfer speeds, SiS has packed its P4 chipsets (SiS655, SiS R658, and SiS648) with Hyper Threading technology, the IEEE1394®, USB 2.0, and MuTIOL® 1G, a SiS proprietary data bandwidth transfer technology that provides a bridge between the North Bridge and South Bridge at 1GB/sec delivery bandwidth.
In the South Bridge, the new core logic SiS963 ensures that maximum speed and performance are matched across all components.
The newly released SiS755, a top-of-the-line core logic chipset for the AMD® Hammer platform, is also paired with the SiS963. The SiS755 features SiS’ proprietary MuTIOL® 1G technology, USB 2.0 and HyperTransportTM technology for enhanced performance and speed.
