Well, if you had any reservations that you may look the odd one out with such a large 4.8in smartphone, think again, as millions rush to pre-order Samsung's GALAXY S III.
A claim from Samsung last week states that more than nine million devices had been pre-ordered by over 100 carriers, with almost two weeks left to launch and so, we expect this figure to rise significantly prior to the device's release on the 29th.
In a quote to The INQUIRER, Vodafone stated "With over a week to go until launch, it's already the most pre-ordered Android device we've brought into our smartphone line-up to date and our limited time offer of 2GB of mobile data and 100 free music tracks is being snapped up." This quote was further affirmed by Carphone Warehouse who went on to say "The Galaxy S3 is without a doubt the fastest selling pre-order of 2012 so far. We're gearing up for an exceptionally busy launch day at the end of the month as the handset lands on shelves at our stores across the UK."
Over 800 Carphone Warehouse stores will look to stock the S III on release, opening their doors to pre-order customers at 7pm on the 29th. What's more, the device is yet to receive its official US launch details, with the only handsets imported international models with no 4G and, for some networks, no 3G support.
We wonder now, just how GALAXY S III sales will stock up against Apple's iPhone 5, which is expected to be released late this year.
