More polish
A little bird delivered a shiny new treat to our pigeon-hole just now - a new-look ViewSonic V350.
ViewSonic launched the innovative dual-SIM Android 2.2 smartphone back at Mobile World Congress, and European marketing manager James Coulson estimated in an exclusive interview with mobile-device.biz it would be available to buy towards the end of this month.
Well it seems ViewSonic decided to give the V350 a make-over instead, and as a result we're probably looking at more like early to mid-June before we can get our hands on one.
But where the originally-launched version came with a dull grey brushed aluminium finish, the new one has gone heavy on the chrome instead and has gone for a squarer, more robust shape.
The V350 is ViewSonic's first foray into the smartphone business, and it's keen to get it right. As indicated in our interview, the emphasis is more on polish (literally and metaphorically) and value, than being the first to market, so we think the new V350 is likely to have the same specs and weight as the original, including Android 2.2. But the new one certainly has a bit more bling about it.
