Galaxy Tab 10.1
The other, widely anticipated launch was Samsung's Android 3.0 (honeycomb) tablet - the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Just like the original Galaxy Tab, this one was launched in conjunction with Vodafone. Apart from the larger screen, as belied by the name, once more the most notable feature was the processor. Despite having a dual-core processor of its own - as shown in the Galaxy S II - Samsung has gone with NVIDIA's Tegra 2 for its tablet.
This would appear to confirm the rumour that Google has defined Tegra 2 as its preferred SoC for Honeycomb tablets. From what we've seen of Android 3.0, it's quite graphically intensive, and Honeycomb is looking like a very major win for NVIDIA. There were no prices or launch dates announced that we're aware of.
