Conclusion

Graphically, The Ship does not make use of the game’s engine, but I don’t think it is meant to; the cartoon style actually adds charm and atmosphere to the cruise liner.

Disappointingly, the environment isn’t totally interactive. You can interact with NPC’s, who just mumble incomprehensively, and pick up numerous items that are essential to the life simulator that runs alongside the game, but it would have been nice to slice up the bed linen, or kick one of the balls that sit alongside the liner’s pools.

The Ship is a lonely but unparalleled multiplayer experience that requires no team work, but relies on your own sharp reactions and a good knowledge of the environment. I doubt it has the sustainability to be a game that you’ll want to play day in day out, but it’s a great deal of fun whilst you’re in the moment. For the price of $19.95 it’s worth the gamble, but it won't win any awards and interest may deteriorate rather quickly due to the repetitive rounds.
