The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is possibly one of the most eagerly awaited PC games of 2015. However, to handle the impressive graphical splendour and size of the game adequately you'll need a PC with a bit more muscle than average.
Minimum and recommended specs for the game have just been published by CD Projekt RED and are as follows:
Minimum System Requirements
- Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz
- AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940
- Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660
- AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870
- RAM 6GB
- OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
- DirectX 11
- HDD Space 40 GB
Recommended System Requirements
- Intel CPU Core i7 3770 3.4 GHz
- AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
- Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770
- AMD GPU Radeon R9 290
- RAM 8GB
- OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
- DirectX 11
- HDD Space 40 GB
Some PC owners might cringe at the above specs, and worry about their PCs straining to play The Witcher 3, but others will welcome a game which makes the most of their system's computational and graphical grunt. PC Gamer suggests that we will be seeing more and more games coming along with these sorts of minimum recommended specifications as the year progresses. This onwards and upwards thirst for better PC component specs will help to distinctly differentiate PC games from those on the Xbox One and PS4.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been delayed from a February launch and is now scheduled for release on 19th May 2015. CD Project RED said, concerning the delay, "When we release the most important game in our studio's history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly." reports Joystiq.
