2K Games to publish The Da Vinci Code game
Selling over 38 million copies in 42 different languages and topping the New York Times best seller list for over 2 years, even if you have not read the book chances are you have heard about it.
2K Games working in conjunction with Sony Pictures is planning to release the game at around the same time as the film debuts (19 th of May for the UK )
Taking onboard the expertise of Charles Cecil who designed Broken Sword, unsurprisingly it will be an action based game that promises to deliver for current gamers and fans of the book.
It remains to be seen if Sony and 2K can successfully convert a best-selling book into a best selling game. History has shown many times that converting a book into a film can be a tough task, a game even harder. When done correctly however, it has the chance to reap huge sales when paired with the appropriate marketing – with Sony Pictures handling the film side of the marketing, this may well no be a concern.
