Sainsbury's will open over 200 of its stores at midnight to cater for the anticipated demand for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The supermarket chain will open its chosen shops at midnight on Monday 8 November so keen gamers can be among the first to get their hands on the new title before traipsing into work the next day bleary-eyed or indeed bunking off.

Sainsbury's said the move was a ‘first' but is expected to boost sales by 20 percent and cement its position as one of the fastest growing games retailers in the UK.

Gurdeep Hunjan, Sainsbury's games buyer, said: "For the first time for a games release, we're opening 210 of our stores at midnight on Monday so that customers can be the first to get their hands on this ever popular title. We're anticipating queues and encourage people to get there early."

Is Jamie Oliver handing them out, :P
.. and those stores are …
I'm guessing they won't be bothering stock the PC version (let alone with a big discount like 360/PS3).
These people who have to be the first to have anything amuse me.
Will they really be any better off than if they'd waited and got the thing at a normal time?

I went for MW2 at midnight last year, went to the pub before hand. It was surprisingly decent night out so to speak. Come back home and start warring it out with only a few people who are over powered and everyone running round not knowing where the decent hiding places are etc.
