Codemasters is back to work once again on three of its most popular franchises, Dirt, Grid and Operation Flashpoint.

Speaking to Develop, Jamie Macdonald, who oversees production at Codemasters, said its Southam branch is "full steam ahead" with the three titles, Dirt 3, Grid 2 and the next iteration in the Flashpoint series. None of the titles have been give official names as yet.

"We've got a major launch with F1 coming up in September and developed at our Birmingham studio, and we hope to draw new IP from there. Our Guildford studio is working hard on Bodycount, and we will be looking to take that franchise further and further with the addition of more IP, " said McDonload.

Further details are expected to be revealed at GamesCon at the end of August.

Hopefully they learned from the mess they made of the last Flashpoint and won't release this one pre-Alpha quality!

Beat me to it!

Still waiting for a proper sequel to OFP. Flashpoint 2 and the ArmA games have all been massive disappointments.

I hope they take the next version of Dirt back to a more Colin McRae Rally type game, whilst certain elements of Dirt 2 were great, all that going around in circles at Battersea Power Station was tedious, along with all the American voices etc

Looking at the trailer, more of the same. Starts off with me thinking mabee they've done a bit less for the American teenager. But the trailer gets worse.

Dirt 2 was a blast but it was removed from my system after 2 weeks…..

Not to worry though, WRC out later this year. ;)

3 games i would rather were not made into a sequel to be honest :(
Colin McRae Rally 1 was one of my favourites TBH, with the latest games they seem to have followed the trend of other games and concentrated only on graphics, forgetting about everything else until last minute and made it stupidly simple and arcadey. Forza is one of the only current racing games I like, it's a proper sim aimed at people who like and know something about cars; most other games you start it up, spam continue for a bit then hold down accelerate and remember to turn occasionally…
