PRESS RELEASE
Hamburg, 5 April 2012 - ROCCATTM, the German manufacturer of innovative gaming accessories, is one of the main sponsors of the 2012 Copenhagen Games, which start today. This one-of-a-kind event brings together top Counter Strike 1.6 and Counter Strike Source teams from all over the world for intense competition.
ROCCATTM is sponsoring the Counter-Strike Source tournament, and will also be showcasing the new ROCCAT Savu Mid-Size Hybrid Gaming Mouse. Visitors will have a chance to test the new "King of Optical Mice."
"Through our involvement with Copenhagen Games, we'll be supporting the gaming community in a very effective way," says René Korte, ROCCAT CEO. "This was a key factor for us in deciding to support the event. It offers gamers the opportunity to meet one another, to compete, and to exchange ideas. It's a great happening and a very important event for e-Sports internationally."
Copenhagen Games is a true international e-Sports event, where winning - as well as simply participating - is considered a great honor. The event is being organized by SLAP.dk - a familiar face on the e-Sports scene since 1998 - and is supported financially by the city of Copenhagen.
Seven hundred PC gamers and 250 console players are expected, as well as 100 walk-in tournament players and 6000 guests.
"For us, it's about the people playing and the people behind them," says the Copenhagen Games Organisation. "If players, in general, support a game, then we'd like to work with that game. However, we still work on a voluntary basis, and even though we have around 70 dedicated crew members at SLAP.dk, new games do create some challenges. Basically, Copenhagen Games is an event created by gamers for gamers. And that is the true spirit of the game."
