Christian Bale takes to the screen as John Connor on May 22nd 2009
Terminator 4 doesn't seem like such a good idea and following most fans' disliking of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, you have to wonder if another outing for the franchise is such a good idea.
Late last year however, it was revealed that Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) would play an older John Connor, surely a good sign.
Well, whether you've got your doubts or not, what we do have today is a confirmed release date as Warner Bros. Studios has announced that Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins will be released at the cinema on May 22nd 2009.
That puts the next Terminator outing up against Night at the Museum II: Escape From the Smithsonian, Ben Stiller's dino-comedy sequel.
Terminator Salvation will mark the beginning of a new Terminator trilogy, it will tell the tale of humanities struggle to stay alive after Skynet's nuclear attack. Though fans of the series continue to hope for a cameo appearance from Arnold Schwarzenegger, an appearance from the Californian governor hasn't been confirmed.
From now on, I think I'll just pencil in my May 22nd's as a day to spend at the box office. Indiana Jones 4 this year, Terminator 4 next year, I wonder what May 22nd 2010 will bring?
