PRESS RELEASE

New addition to Android-powered Galaxy portfolio delivers style, power and versatility

4th January 2012, London, UK - Samsung Electronics today announced the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus to its Android-powered family of devices, an enhanced version of the popular Galaxy Ace which was successfully launched last year.

Building on the style heritage of the Galaxy Ace, the Galaxy Ace Plus is a stylishly designed smartphone contained in a modern and minimalist casing with rounded edges, featuring a 3.65'' sized HVGA display. The phone has been designed to be simple yet elegant.

Backed by an impressive 1GHz processor, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connectivity and WiFi 802.11 functionality, owners of the Galaxy Ace Plus will benefit from lightning-fast speeds for browsing the web, downloading content and streaming video. Application startups are faster with virtually no lag time, even while multitasking. Complete with Samsung's Social Hub, Music Hub and ChatON services, the Galaxy Ace Plus also boasts an impressive 2GB of shared storage capacity for multimedia content and up to 1GB of direct storage for applications-more than any smartphone in its category.

Simon Stanford, Managing Director, UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division said: "Following the huge success of our Android devices last year including the Galaxy Ace and Galaxy S II, we're aiming for the Galaxy Ace Plus to continue to enhance the strong Galaxy smartphone range we have built to date. Whilst we saw huge growth in smartphone ownership in 2011, this is set to increase even further this year with the smartphone experience made accessible to a wider audience through the availability of everything from pre-pay to premium devices."

Running on Android Gingerbread and featuring Samsung's TouchWiz user interface, the Galaxy Ace Plus allows people to handle mobile tasks faster and more efficiently. New music playback functionality features a play progress bar and the ability to view music tracks in folders. Call features allow calls to be rejected with text messages whilst unwanted callers can also be added to a black list log. For added productivity, there is also ThinkFree, an optional tool that enables viewing and editing of Office documents, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDFs, while on the move.

The Galaxy Ace Plus will be available in the UK later this year.
