The Dell Studio One 19 is initially going to be available only in Japan on 23 March and then in "many other countries later this Spring." The starting price is $699 and it looks like touchscreen costs you an extra $100 and Blu-ray an extra $200.

Are you tempted? Can you see one of these in your living room or kitchen? Let us know in the HEXUS.community discussion forums.

Finally some real competition for the HP TouchSmart series, albeit with a smaller screen size. I'm curious on what HP will do now, counter by launching a smaller TouchSmart pc or drop the price on their already available systems. I'm hoping for the latter.

Oh and “competitor for Apple”? Unless Apple starts to offer BluRay or touchscreen functionality on their iMacs, I don't see them competing for this target audience.
