The war on clicks

Technology etailer SCAN has unveiled a redesign of its website, which director Elan Raja said is designed to make the site more intuitive for users.

Scan announced a major site redesign last summer but as Raja said, speaking exclusively to HEXUS.channel "You can't just launch a new website and leave it."

In response to what Raja described as "constructive criticism" from its users, a number of tweaks have been made to the site with the aim of reducing the number of clicks it takes to get to what you want. "When you listen to customers you find yourself adapting to their needs," said Raja. "We've made some subtle but impactful changes."

Among the improvements Raja highlighted are:

  • Homepage tabs covering vertical markets such as Pro Audio
  • Option to toggle between list view and picture view on product searches
  • Easy sorting by manufacturer, popularity, etc
  • Green computing and mobile computing zones
  • Greater control over delivery times and dates
  • Seamless integration of Paypal into checkout

In his desire for constructive criticism Raja invited HEXUS readers to judge these changes for themselves. So don't be shy, have a look and share your thoughts in the HEXUS.community discussion forums.
